Welcome to The Journey Above! My name is Steven Mirabito, and I hope to use this blog to share my adventures as I travel the globe and the tips & tricks I’ve found along the way. Of course, no travel blog is complete without detailing how you can get there too, so I’ll also be sharing some of the strategies I use to travel without breaking the bank.
While I won’t be sharing every piece of travel news (I’ll leave that to my colleagues over at Boarding Area), I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the table in the areas of guides and reviews. While I do leverage credit cards, miles and points, and other strategies to travel in premium cabins and hang out in airport lounges, I also take plenty of flights in economy, stay in hostels, and prioritize public transit on the ground. You won’t find fancy spa treatments and $1,000+/night hotels here – instead, I hope you enjoy how I take a hybrid luxury/backpacking approach to travel.
In addition, while I’m far from a professional photographer, I hope to share with you many of the incredible places I’ve been through photos and videos. Keep an eye out for new content on YouTube and Instagram in addition to the blog.
